Hi,

Quite new to stepper motor control. I am using NSC-G2 to control CS series Belt drive. I executed the below commands one by one in terminal.

MT=-2 `Stepper motor with active high pulses
YA=1 `Full step
YB=25000 `90.0104mm / 3.6um - steps per one revolution
WT=50 `Delayed startup
CN -1 `Active low limit switches
MG_LFX `Prints 1 indicating limit is inactive
MG_LRX `Prints 1 indicating limit is inactive
SPX=5000
ACX=100000
DCX=100000
PRX=25000
BGX

I can see the BGA variable changing from 0 to 1 and then back to 0. After completion, if I check the PAX=? The value is updated to 25000. But all this while motor never moved. So, the software is assuming that the movement is done but motor is not turned on at all.

Any idea what is happening?

Regards,
TJ

Hi TJ,

This would be better addressed in the Connecting Hardware forum. Which Galil controller and Amplifier are you using? We will want to make sure that the correct value for MT is set. And if you are using a Galil stepper amplifier, you will want to confirm you have the current amplifier gain set with the AG command.

Please email me at kushal p at galilmc dot com and I can better assist you.
